UPCL Executive Director Kishore Alva has said that a festival is structured to provide students a platform to realise their creative talent in the fields of technology, sports and cultural activities. He was speaking during the inaugural ceremony of Aloysian Fest at St Aloysius College in Mangaluru on Thursday.

He said festivals enhance a student’s personality and help them achieve greater heights and gain experience. As an alumnus of St Aloysius College, he walked down memory lane by recalling his college days and how the institution shaped him into becoming a good leader.

St Aloysius Institutions Rector Fr Dionysius Vas presided over the programme and said that the country is in need of transformational leaders today. St Aloysius College Principal Fr Swebert D’Silva said that the students should not be satisfied with mediocrity but try to achieve something great.

He also mentioned that festivals are a great opportunity for young people to mingle. Central Bank of India (Mangaluru) Chief Manager A S Naik inaugurated the programme. College Registrar Dr A M Narahari, Campus Minister Fr Praveen Martis and festival co-ordinator Dr Mukund Prabhu were present.
