Samajwadi Party (SP) patron Mulayam Singh Yadav on Friday said that he would campaign for his younger brother and SP nominee from Jaswant Nagar constituency Shivpal Singh Yadav. “I will first campaign for Shivpal and after that for Akhilesh,” Mulayam told reporters here.
The SP sources said that Mulayam was likely to seek votes for Shivpal at Jaswant Nagar on February 9, the last day of campaigning. Polling in Jaswant Nagar was scheduled to be held on February 11.
Mulayam’s remarks come within days of his making a U-turn and stating that the SP-Congress alliance has his blessings.
