Yelahanka MLA S R Vishwanath on Thursday denied having any links to the attack on the Dasanapura APMC president Kadabagere Srinivas, who was shot at by two bike-borne men near Kogilu Cross on February 3.

Srinivas is said to a one-time close aide of Vishwanth, the two-time BJP MLA from Yelahanka. Srinivas reportedly fell out with the BJP legislator and had joined the Congress.

Vishwanath told journalists in Bengaluru that he knew Srinivas but had nothing to do with the attack on him. “I am ready to face any sort of enquiry and also undergo a narcoanalysis test”, the MLA said.

Vishwanth said he had not received any summons from the police. “I am ready to appear before the police any time to clear my name”, he added. Vishwanth said he had also met Home Minister G Parameshwara and clarified his position.

Parameshwara, who held at a meeting with top police officers in Bengaluru, told journalists, “It was a routine meeting, the shooting incident was not discussed”, he said. Srinivas is undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
