Senior BJP leader wants Raje removed

Senior BJP leader Ghanshyam Tiwari said the people of Rajasthan are unhappy with Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, and that the central leadership of the party needed to remove her from the post.

The BJP will be wiped out of Rajasthan otherwise, the former minister said.

Tiwari was speaking at a programme organised to commemorate the death anniversary of Deendayal Upadhyaya, a Bharatiya Jan Sangh leader. During the function, he called for an investigation into Upadhyaya’s death, similar to the probe in the disappearance of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.

Tiwari said Vasundhara had betrayed the founding principles of the Jan Sangh and the BJP. He also accused the chief minister of ruling in an autocratic manner. “The chief minister is running the state like ektantra (monocracy), not loktantra (democracy). BJP MLAs are protesting against her leadership in Barmer, Dungarpur and several other places,” said Tiwari, who is the most vocal person in the anti-Vasundhara camp.

Tiwari, an MLA in the state, said the BJP should not be allowed to become a party of “Raja-Maharajas or Seth-Sahukars”.
