Rudresh murder: NIA seeks suspects' custody

National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed an application seeking custody of four suspects in the murder of RSS volunteer R Rudresh.

NIA advocate Prasanna Kumar moved the application before the NIA Special Court on Wednesday. The High Court of Karnataka has stayed remanding the fifth suspect Asim Sharieff in police custody.

The judge has reserved the orders on the application for Thursday.  Rudresh was murdered in October 2016 near BEO office on Kamaraj Road.

Rowdy detained
The city police have detained notorious rowdy, Prashant (26), under the provisions of the Goonda Act.

He was put behind bars in connection with a murder case in 2013, but was released on bail. But, he continued with his criminal activities and was again arrested in April 2015. He has been now lodged at the Central Prisons, Parappana Agrahara.
