Health camp for farmers today

Speaking to the media persons here, President of the Committee Vijaya Kumar Udyavar said that the health camp will be preceded by the foundation stone laying ceremony for various construction works taken up by the Committee. The programme will be inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Hemalatha.

APMC has taken up a variety of programmes to help the framers, like life insurance schemes. As many as 14 construction works have been initiated at a cost of Rs 35.6 lakh for the year 2009-10. The committee has been successful in collecting about Rs 29 lakh market fees from the farmers during 2008-09. The target for the current fiscal year is Rs 50 lakh, of which Rs 40 lakh has been already collected, he added.
