A gold merchant from Bengaluru was robbed of a bag containing jewellery worth Rs 98.63 lakh while travelling in a bus, at Chalageri in the taluk on Sunday.
The incident came to light on Tuesday. The victim is Adil Mohammed, a resident of Coffee Board Colony on Shyampura Main Road in Bengaluru. The incident occurred when Mohammed was on his way from Mumbai to Bengaluru in a private bus (Volvo), when the bus had stopped for a tea break near a hotel at 8 am.
Mohammed had been to answer call of nature and when he returned, he found that the bag was missing from his seat. He has lodged a complaint, saying that the bag contained
3.91 kg of ornaments.
