UP will elect its daughter, not adopted son: Mayawati

BSP supremo Mayawati on Tuesday said that the people of Uttar Pradesh would elect their 'beti' (daughter) rather than the ‘adopted son’ (a reference to Modi) in the ongoing Assembly polls in the state.

Mayawati also said the BJP had turned into the ‘Bhartiya Jumla Party’, as all its leaders, including Modi, keep making up one ‘jumla’ (slogan) after another.

“UP will support its beti... the adopted outsider son will be sent back to Gujarat,” Mayawati said, while addressing an election meeting at Gonda, about 200 km from here.

The BSP supremo said that the note ban decision had been known to the BJP leaders, their industrialist friends and they managed to save their black money.

She said that note ban had deeply impacted the poor. “A large number of people were rendered unemployed owing to the note ban,” she said. “BJP has no moral right to lecture on corruption. The leaders of BJP have not, despite my repeated demand, revealed information about their accounts prior to note ban,”she said.

Mayawati also termed Modi an ‘anti-dalit’ and said that the BJP would abolish reservation for the SC and ST if it came to power. The BSP supremo said that the dalits were ‘very angry’ with Modi for the latter’s remarks about her at an election rally at Jalaun on Monday.
