It's detox time for politicians in Punjab

Politicians in Punjab, who sweated it out during the chilly winter months, are now unwinding as D-day approaches.

While some opted for naturopathy and detox sessions, others are on a tour of the US, Bangkok, Dubai and Hong Kong.

From film shoots and book launches to big fat Punjabi weddings, the ‘netas’ are making good use of their time before March 11 — when the election results will be announced.

Punjab Congress chief Capt Amarinder Singh is busy giving the final touches to his biography – The People’s Maharaja – which was launched on Tuesday. Amarinder is also coming up with another book on the Battle of Saragarhi.

Octogenarian Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and two close aides, took a flight to the US for a health check up. Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal and his wife and Union minister, Harsimrat Kaur Badal, are also away in the US.

A video clip showing Harsimrat regretting not spending time with the family has gone viral. The Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) star campaigner and MP Bhagwant Mann, who contested the Assembly elections against Sukhbir, took detox sessions at a naturopathy centre in Bengaluru.

Mann also spent time with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal who attended the sessions with him. Comedian and AAP candidate Gurpreet Singh Guggu is busy shooting for his upcoming flick with comedian Kapil Sharma.
