Last Updated 27 February 2017, 20:07 IST

A complaint has been filed with the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s Parliamentary Secretary and Congress MLC K Govindaraj with regard to the diary seized from the latter's house during the Income Tax raids.

The complaint by one K Madhavaraju stated that since the diary seized from the residence of Govindaraj has the details about huge money paid to the Congress high command and also money collected for various local elections, the matter required a thorough investigation.

The complainant has attached newspaper reports about the contents of the diary. The complaint said that the contents of the diary attract provisions under Prevention of Corruption Act.

Preliminary enquiry

An ACB official said that a preliminary enquiry will be conducted on the complaint.
As per the rules, the ACB will have to seek permission from the competent authority before registering an FIR in any petition or complaint against any government servant involving his official duty.
