JOIN USA 20-year-old engineering student died and his classmate, riding pillion, sustained injuries after the bike they were travelling, crashed into a tree in Anekal on Tuesday.
The deceased, Rubin, was a second year BE student at the Alliance University. Though he was immediately rushed to Narayana Health hospital, the doctors there declared him brought dead, the police said.
The accident occurred near Byagadadhenahalli Gate on the Anekal-Chandapura road at around 1.10 pm when Rubin and his classmate Deepak were going to their house in VBHC Apartments.
When they came near Byagadadhenahalli Gate, Rubin, while trying to avoid a bus from brushing their bike, applied the brake, skidded and lost control over the vehicle.
The speeding bike hit a tree. Rubin sustained grievous head injuries. Deepak called his friends who rushed to the spot to help them, the police said. Police have seized the bike.
