Parents protest fee hike at Vibgyor High

Hundreds of parents gathered in front of Vibgyor High, Kadugodi, on Monday to take part in the ongoing silent protest opposing fee hike by the school management.

A parent said her child would be in Class 1 next academic year and the school had proposed to increase the fee by 27%.  “More than 200 parents met the CEO of the chain of schools on Friday. He gave us vague reasons and told us to leave the school, if we were not happy.”

The parents have been gathering outside the school every day from 8 am, before going to work. When contacted by DH, the school issued a statement explaining that the fee revision was due to the introduction of a school bus tracking app, a safeguarded visitor management system, doorstep delivery of school essentials, CCTV surveillance and online fee payment facility.
