The victim of a recent assault by three men on March 1 died on Thursday morning.
He was injured when three men who came in an autorickshaw randomly assaulted six persons in Rajajinagar and Subramanyanagar.

Sarvesh (55), a building contractor and resident of Rajajinagar, was riding his two-wheeler near Rajajinagar N Block when he was attacked, said the police.

The miscreants hit Sarvesh on the left elbow with a machete. He was admitted to a nearby hospital and discharged after two days. On Thursday night, he developed chest pain and was admitted to a hospital. He failed to respond to the treatment and died.

Suffered heart attack
Doctors said that Sarvesh had suffered a heart attack. But it is suspected that he might have died due to the injury he had sustained earlier. One of the nerves in his hand was cut when the assailants attacked him. The post-mortem report is awaited to ascertain if he died due to the injury or the heart attack, added the police.

The Subramanyanagar police had arrested Suresh (23), Chandra Kumar (24), both residents of Srirampura, and Rajesh (27), a resident of Kurubarahalli, who are all autorickshaw drivers. They claimed that they were in an inebriated state and attacked people randomly. If it is proved that Sarvesh died due to the injury, then the trio will be booked for murder, said the police.
