A 30-year-old woman lodged a complaint at RT Nagar police station against her husband claiming that he cheated her into marriage without disclosing that he was impotent.

According to the police, the victim registered a complaint stating that she was married to Indrajith, a software engineer around four years ago. A few days after the wedding, the complainant realised that her husband was impotent. After a few days, Indrajith started doubting his wife’s fidelity, she stated. He started picking fights and would physically assault her every night, she said.

According to the complaint, her husband also told his relatives Vishwanath and Parashuram that his wife was having an extramarital affair. Both relatives would shout at the victim telling her she had brought a bad name to their family. The victim, who could not bear the harassment, informed her family and approached the local court seeking a divorce, said the police.

Indrajith and Vishwanath realised that she had gold valuables worth Rs 56,000 and wanted to sell it. The duo sold the valuables and handed over just Rs 28,500 to her. When the victim asked for the rest of the amount, the two told her the gold fetched only so much.

On February 12, two persons approached the victim when she was alone at home and threatened her, asking her to withdraw the case, failing which they would kill her, the police said.

She narrated her ordeal to her family and lodged a complaint at the RT Nagar police station a few days ago. The victim has named her husband and relatives in the complaint, who will be questioned and necessary action will be taken, said the police.
