The birthday of the DMK patriarch, holding the Chief Minister's post for the fifth time, comes at a time when his party has registered a thumping victory in the Lok Sabha polls bagging 18 out of 39 seats in the state.Karunanidhi recently solved his succession issue by anointing his second son M K Stalin as his deputy and ensuring a Union cabinet berth for his Madurai-based son and first time MP M K Azhagiri.
