Kohli injury not serious, says BCCI

The Indian cricket team received encouraging news after spending some anxious moments waiting for scan reports on Virat Kohli’s shoulder injury.

The medical reports on Thursday evening confirmed that there were no “serious concerns” to Kohli.

The Indian skipper could not field after landing hard on his right shoulder while trying to save a boundary in the post-lunch session.

The BCCI issued a statement, making it clear that Kohli is getting treatment for a mere strain and that should enable him to take part in the rest of the third Test here.
“Relevant investigations have revealed that there are no serious concerns which will hamper his speedy recovery...,” the BCCI stated.

Such was the impact that Kohli had difficulty in standing up and was seen grimacing in pain, clutching his shoulder to be rushed out of the field immediately.
