JOIN US A woman waiting for a cab outside 1MG Lido Mall, off MG Road, central Bengaluru, was robbed by three men on a motorcycle on Wednesday night.
She narrated the incident in a Facebook post. She said she and her friend were waiting for cab outside the mall after dinner at a restaurant. Three men on a motorcycle — none of them was wearing a helmet — rode up and one of them snatched her handbag that contained cash, an expensive mobile phone and some documents. The men pushed and shoved her. Had her friend not held her, she would have “fallen flat on her face”.
“I realised that my top was torn and a cab driver tried to chase the trio but in vain. The cab driver took us to Halasuru police station where an FIR was registered. Before the trio could snatch my bag, they had attempted the same on another person who was standing near Oberoi Hotel (sic),” she said in the post. A senior police officer said they had received a written complaint and were checking the CCTV footage to hunt the culprits down.
On Sunday night, a woman was molested and her friend assaulted by a group of men in Chikkajala. The same night, two youths were arrested for molesting an IIMB student at Panathur, Marathahalli.
