12 sustain injuries in bus-tipper collision

Twelve persons, including drivers of a KSRTC bus and a tipper, sustained injuries in a head-on collision between the vehicles near Columbia Asia Hospital junction on outskirts of the city on Thursday night.

According to the police, the condition of the bus driver Madegowda and tipper driver Muttuswamy, is critical. The tipper, which was coming from Royal Inn Junction hit the bus bound for Bengaluru. NR Traffic police have registered a case.

4 injured in AC unit explosion
Four persons, including two diploma students, sustained injuries after an air-conditioning unit exploded in a hospital at Rajeev Nagar in Mysuru on Thursday.

The injured are Shoaib Sharieff (16) and Mohammed Nayaz (17), both students of NIE, and Narayana Hospital staff Krishna (25) and Yoganand (30) of Yashas Enterprises. According to Udayagiri police, the students were under training programme with Yashas Enterprises and visited Narayana Hrudayalaya Multi-speciality Hospital to repair the AC unit. The AC exploded as they were filling gas and chemical components to the unit.
