Will work to get share of Cauvery water: Palaniswami

Last Updated 24 March 2017, 18:53 IST

With Karnataka refusing to honour the Supreme Court order to release Cauvery water, the AIADMK government in Tamil Nadu vowed to take appropriate steps to get its due share.

Chief Minister Eddapadi K Palaniswami explained in the Assembly the actions taken by his government on the inter-state water dispute.

He expressed confidence that the state would get a favourable verdict in the case pertaining to forming the Cauvery Management Board, which is pending before the Supreme Court.

“If the DMK had taken steps back then, the present impasse on the Cauvery dispute would not have come up,” he said, referring to remarks by DMK working president and Opposition leader M K Stalin.
