Last Updated 26 March 2017, 18:26 IST
Superintendent of Police P Rajendra Prasad said those who are engaged in selling narcotic drugs
and substances will have to undergo imprisonment for 20 years. He was speaking at a seminar on ill effects of alcohol and substance abuse organised by Temperance Board, department of information and public relations, Government First Grade College and Bharath Scouts and Guides here.

The Superintendent
of Police called upon youths not to fall prey to substances. The youths should join hands in building a healthy society, he added. The police department will place suggestion boxes in 60 colleges in the district to collect suggestions from the students on traffic or collect inputs on drugs and substance abuse, he said.

“The students can provide information on drugs and substance abuse in their locality through the suggestion boxess, which will help the police in cracking down the activities,” he said. Temperance Board director K A Yakub said the board, in association with Dharmasthala Janajagruthi Vedike, has organised 1,040 camps to create awareness on the ill effects of alcohol consumption.
