Siddaganga seer turns 110 today

 Siddaganga mutt seer Shivakumara Swami, popularly known as ‘Trividha Dasohi’ will turn 110 on Saturday. Governor Vajubhai Vala will inaugurate a programme at 10.30 am, organised to mark the occasion.

 Shivaratri Deshikendra Swami of Suttur mutt will preside over the programme. Siddeshwara Swami of Jnanayogashrama and Siddalinga Swami of Siddaganga Mutt  and other dignitaries will grace the occasion.

The citizens’ committee has organised a ‘Shobha Yatre’ in Tumakuru, which will begin at 2.30 pm. Veereshananda Saraswati of Ramakrishna Vivekananda Ashrama will flag off the Yatre by performing a puja to the Nandi Dhwaja. The yatre will begin from Gangotri Main Road and terminate at the government college grounds.  The Guruvandane programme will begin at 6 pm and Shivakumara Swami will grace the occasion.

Former chief justice of India M N Venkatachalaiah will take part in the event.
Arrangements have been made to serve food to as many as one lakh people at seven different places on the mutt premises, to mark the 110th birthday of the seer.
