An evening of soulful music

The William Joseph International Academy for Performing Arts recently celebrated its Crystal anniversary with an evening of music concerts and theatre performances.

The evening began with the students of the Academy playing the piano, with the youngest being two years old. This was followed by a performance by Illaquin, who performed effortlessly with the flute, trumpet, piano and the violin ensemble.

He also performed a few of his own compositions on trumpet and piano, which was appreciated by the audience. The student orchestra took centre stage and rendered to perfection three beautiful waltzes which left many in the audience, yearning for more. The evening drew to an end with a performance by the Academy’s Classical guitar ensemble.

Dr Ashley Williams said, “Music has no language, only emotion that is capable of connecting minds. Music is that crystal we all need in our lives. This concert marks a big milestone in our symphonic journey of creating and spreading the melodies of music, theatre and dance education. V Narayanswamy, a music teacher, conductor and composer, was presented with the ‘Best Music Teacher Award’ by Dr Ashley William and Sarah William Joseph.
