The CBI Special Court on Thursday granted bail to Santhosh Rao who is allegedly involved in rape and murder of second PUC student Soujanya (17) of Ujire, Dharmasthala.
On Tuesday, the high court stayed the order of the CBI Special Court which had directed the CBI for further investigation into the case on February 7 based on the application filed by the father of the victim.
Soujanya was found raped and murdered at Pangala near Dharmasthala on October 9, 2012. The case was handed over to CBI after strong public protests. Now, the case has been transferred to XVII ACMM, City Civil Court, Bengaluru.
