Biddatanda tourney Day 2: Kondira begins with 2-0 victory

16 teams qualify for next round of hockey championship

As many as 16 teams have qualified in the matches held as a part of the Biddatanda Hockey Cup Tournament at General K S Thimmaiah stadium in Cheriyaparambu on Tuesday.

Kondira, Chappanda, Pattamada, Ammatanda, Nellira, Nidumanda, Chennapanda, Keethiyanda, Annira, Acchandira, Gowdanda, Ketolira, Moorkanda and Mukkatira teams were among the winners.

In the first match of the day, Kondira defeated Kutterira by 2 goals. Kutterira Bopanna scored a goal for Kutterira. Thammaia scored two goals and Subbaiah scored one goal for Kondira.

In a tie-breaker, Chappanda beat Naliyanda. Both teams had scored one goal each.

Pattamada won over Tennira by three goals. Pattamada Ponnappa, Muttanna and Ganapathy from the winning team, scored a goal each.

Ammatanda recorded a 2-1 victory over Alemada. Cheeyanna of Alemada scored one goal while Chirag Chinnappa from Ammatanda scored two.

Nellira beat Macchura by three goals. Pawan Mandanna, Dechamma and Ravindra scored a goal each for the winning team.

Nidumanda defeated Chodumada by a goal.

In a tie-breaker match, Chennapanda beat Adengada by 3-1 goals.

Keetiyanda claimed victory over Ajjamada in another tie-breaker. Two child players Sakshi and Areva played for Keetiyanda team.

Annira defeated Paleyanda by 2-1. Suri Subramani of Paleyanda team scored a goal while Belliyappa and Deepak Changappa of Annira team scored a goal each.

While Ketolira beat Kuppanda, Moorkanda beat Kotramada and Mukkatira (Betri) beat Kollira and have gone to the next round.
