Three arrested for selling drug

Central Division police arrested three persons and recovered one kg marijuana from them while they were trying to sell it to customers near a college at Shanthinagar.

The arrested have been identified as Augustin (24), a resident of Austin Town, Harish (22) a resident of Halasuru, and Amaran (25), a resident of Viveknagar.

According to police, they received information about the sale of marijuana near St Joseph's College at Akkithimmanahalli on Monday evening. Posing as customers, the policemen in plainclothes approached them and nabbed them red-handed with packs of marijuana.

Around 1,100 gm of marijuana was recovered from them.

They were produced before a magistrate and were remanded in judicial custody. Ashoknagar police have registered a case and are further investigating.
