Rebel JD(S) MLAs meet Digvijaya

The Congress is learnt to have given the green signal to the JD(S) rebel MLAs to soon join the party.

Three of the seven rebel legislators, including Zameer Ahmed Khan and N Cheluvarayaswamy, on Tuesday met AICC general secretary in-charge of Karnataka Digvijaya Singh. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was also present on the occasion. Eight JD(S) rebel MLAs had crossvoted to favour the Congress in the Rajya Sabha election held last year. However, Mahalakshmi Layout MLA K Gopalaiah, returned to the party fold recently after tendering an apology.

A source in the Congress said the party high command has given the green signal to induct them into the party. But the party has not promised them  tickets to contest the next Assembly elections. They are likely to join the party by the end of this year.
