Congress' thanksgiving rally in Gundlupet on April 26

Last Updated 21 April 2017, 19:48 IST

The ruling Congress is organising a thanks-giving convention at Gundlupet in Chamarajanagar district on April 26 following the party’s victory in the recent byelection to the Assembly from the Gundlupet constituency.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, KPCC president G Parameshwara, KPCC working president Dinesh Gundu Rao and many senior ministers are scheduled to attend the convention. Mohana Kumari, wife of the former minister the late H S Mahadeva Prasad, won the byelection defeating BJP’s C S Niranjan Kumar.

The party has, however, not finalised the date for holding a similar convention in Nanjangud as Public Works Minister H C Mahadevappa is unwell. The party had made Mahadevappa incharge of the byelection from Nanjangud Assembly constituency, where party’s Kalale Keshavamurthy defeated V Srinivas Prasad of the BJP.
