JOIN US A woman officer has accused the in-charge deputy director of Women and Child Development (WCD) department, G S Suresh, of sexually abusing her. She has lodged a complaint at the women’s police station in the city.
In her complaint, the woman officer has said that Suresh harassed her sexually on several occasions during the period between December 20, 2016 and April 20, 2017. “He forced me to cooperate for intercourse and when I refused, he slapped me.
Since he did not mend his ways despite my repeated warnings, I have no other go but to lodge the complaint,” the officer explained in her complaint lodged on Thursday night.
Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer K Rakesh Kumar said that Suresh had been relieved of his responsibilities and a panel headed by ZP deputy chief secretary would probe the charges.
