Two days after he was arrested in the national capital in connection with a bribery case, the Delhi Crime Branch Police on Thursday brought AIADMK (Amma) deputy secretary T T V Dhinakaran to Chennai for further interrogation.

The police team from Delhi arrived in Chennai by a private airliner, along with Dhinakaran and his close aide Mallikarjuna, to gather more information related to the illegal transfer of money from Tamil Nadu to Delhi.

Police sources here said Dhinakaran was grilled for about three hours at the Central government office in Rajaji Bhavan. He was also taken to his residence for further questioning.

Authorities attached to the anti-corruption wing helped the police in the interrogation. The investigation team also quizzed Dhinakaran’s wife Anuradha.

“They (Dhinakaran and Mallikarjuna) will be taken to some more places in Chennai for further investigation,” a senior police official seeking anonymity said.

Equipped with search warrants obtained from a local court in Delhi, the probe team is expected to conduct raids at the residences of Dhinakaran and Mallikarjuna shortly.
