Biddatanda Cup: Palanganda, Paradanda, Anjaparuvanda and Koothanda enter quarter

Former champions Palanganda, Paradanda, Anjaparuvanda and Koothanda entered quarter final at the Kodava family hockey tournament for Biddatanda Cup at General K S Thimmayya Stadium at Cheriyaparambu in Napoklu on Tuesday.

Five-time champion Palanganda continued their dream with a 5-2 victory against Kongetira. Palanganda had scored five goals in the first half of the match. It was Ajay who sounded the board twice and Palanganda Kalappa, Prajwal Belliappa and Pradhan scored a goal apiece to help the team to enter quarter final.

Swahan and Akkamma of Kongetira scored a goal apiece.  Paradanda edged out Mekerira 2-1. Former champion Anjaparuvanda beat Baleyada 4-2. Hemanth, Vinay, Subbaiah and Abhin Chittiyappa sounded the board for Anjaparuvanda while Naveen and Milan scored a goal apiece for Baleyada. Riding on a fine hat-trick by Somanna, Koothanda registered victory 6-0 over Kodimaniyanda. Team players Ganesh sounded the board twice while Bopanna scored a goal for the team taking the goals to six.
