MLA K Shadakshari has suggested the taluk-level officials to take effective measures to reach the government schemes and facilities to the beneficiaries by 2018. He was speaking at the tri-monthly progress review meeting at taluk panchayat auditorium here recently.

“My term as MLA will end in a year. The officials should take necessary steps to reach schemes implemented by state government to reach the people. The officials should work to my pace else they should take transfer to other place,” K Shadakshari said. He told the taluk panchayat executive officer to serve show-cause notice on the officials who have skipped KDP meeting.

The taluk officials should reclaim the government land encroached upon by anybody including elected representatives or the other influential, MLA told tahsildar. He expressed his happiness over the functioning of goshalas and suggested the Food and Civil Supplies officials to ensure the ration is distributed to the beneficiaries from 1 to 10 of every month.

The legislator told the meeting that he had received several complaints of corrupt practices in Sub-treasury office and warned Sub-treasury officer (in-charge) Nagaraju and TP Accountant Nazeer Pheeran of action if the corruption and red-tapism at Sub-treasury office is not curbed. He suggested the Transport officials to shift the office to new building, which was inaugurated months back.

Sericulture department should educate the farmers about the schemes and benefits of  taking up silk farming with the help of progressive farmers. The state is reeling under severe drought but the situation has not affected silk and milk farmers (sericulture and dairy farming). Hence, the officials should hold gram sabhas and educate the people about programmes, schemes and facilities for taking up silk farming, MLA said.
