Man held for molesting minor stepdaughter

The Whitefield division police arrested a man for sexually assaulting his minor stepdaughter in Bellandur on Thursday.

The accused is a karate master and had separated from his first wife. The victim’s mother, a garment employee, went to work as usual on Thursday morning while the suspect left for his karate classes. Around 12.30 pm, he came back and was at home with the 14-year-old who had summer holidays.

The mother, in her complaint, alleged that the suspect tried to hug and force himself on her daughter. The victim escaped from him and ran to a neighbour’s house. When her mother returned, she narrated the incident to her which prompted her to lodge the complaint. The suspect has been arrested and booked under the POCSO Act.
