Former minister Kalakappa Bandi sent out a farmer when the latter raised the Mahadayi river water issue at a meeting of BJP workers at Ambedkar Sabhabhavan here on Tuesday.

The farmer, who was seated in the gallery, intervened when state BJP president B S Yeddyurappa was addressing the meeting. The farmer urged him to speak about the Mahadayi issue. Bandi, who noticed this, came down from the dais, held the farmer’s hand and took him out of the hall, telling him to go out.

At the same time, when another farmer raised the issue, Bandi told him to keep quiet.

At the meeting, Yeddyurappa called upon the party workers to inform masses about the ‘failures’ of the state government and work towards ensuring the party’s victory in the next Assembly election.
