Fine ensemble
The London Philharmonic Orchestra is embarking on a unique tour of India, giving performances by its Renga Ensemble and the Karnataka College of Percussion. It will perform at the Chowdiah Memorial Hall on April 5, 7 pm. The conductor is Scott Stroman. Guest artistes include Ramamani, Ramesh Shotham, T A S Mani and Mike Herting, alongside LPO players.
The group will perform a programme of music in the Carnatic style. Based on ancient Indian folk melodies, the pieces often tell stories and express feelings that soloists interpret and incorporate into their improvisations. ‘Ramanavami’ fest
Vishwamohan BhatSree Ramaseva Mandali will present the 72nd Sree Rama Navami Celebrations at Government Junior College, Fort High School Grounds till April 30. R Vishveshwaran and party will render a veena concert and Abhishek Raghuram and team will present a music concert on April 1. Bombay Sisters and M S Sheela will perform on April 2 while Vijayalakshmi Subramanyam, R K Prasanna Kumar, Nisha P Rajagopal and S Sowmya will perform on April 3.On April 4, T N Krishnan and Viji Krishnan Natarajan will perform a violin duet; N R Harini and Hyderabad Brothers will present a vocal concert while Mysore Manjunath and Vishwamohan Bhat will perform a Carnatic and Hindustani Jugalbandi.
The artistes performing on April 5 are Nandhitha and Neyveli Santhanagopalan and on April 6 are Karthik and K S Gopalakrishnan. Anupama Srimali and Mysore Sukanya Prabhakar will perform on April 7 and Mysore Chandan Kumar and Praveen Godkhindi will present a flute recital on April 8.

 Wooten in town
Five-time Grammy award-winning bass player Victor Wooten will be doing a show and workshop in the City with Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music and Nathaniel School of Music, in association with Cathedral Institute of Further Education.
Wooten will play with Prasanna – an innovator on guitar, S Karthik (ghatam) and Bangalore Amrit (kanjira) on April 5, 7.30 pm at Cathedral High School, No. 63 Richmond Road. The workshop will be held on April 5, 1 pm at Cathedral High School. For details, call 9845465411.

Classics galore
Theme will present An evening with piano and violin classics by Natallia Kapylova (piano) and Christo Fernandes (violin) on April 4, 6 pm at Theme Piano World, 817, Girija, 8th Block, Koramangala. The duo will play music by Massanet, Tchaikovsky, Vittorio Monti, etc, after which Natallia will play Chopin Miniatures to celebrate 200 years of Chopin.

Ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh will be performing live in a concert called ‘The Unforgettables’ on April 3 at Gayatri Vihar, Palace Grounds. The concert will start at 7 pm. Tickets are available at select Sangeetha Mobile Stores and Calypso Music Store in Jayanagar. For details, call 64557076.
