<p>Seven years and 65 outlets later, neighbourhood ice cream brand Polar Bear will see the resurgence of its brand identity that will make it a Rs 40-crore brand by the end of this fiscal. <br /><br />Polar Bear, which is operated by Honeycomb Retail India, plans to expand its network to 150 outlets over the next four years. “Polar Bear is all about experiences and aspirations, while retaining its charm as a family-favourite ice cream parlour. We spent about six months in the conceptualisation and design of Polar Bear version 2.0,” Polar Bear Director Kishore Rai said.<br /><br />Besides Bengaluru, Polar Bear is set to launch outlets in Hyderabad and Chennai. With innovation at the core of Polar Bear version 2.0, the ice cream parlour has put in nine months into refreshing its menu, which will see items like waffles, crepes and sundae bars being prepared at a live counter at the outlets. <br /><br />“This time around, we have laid special focus on sundaes, and want customers to move beyond the same-old recipes that are being served across ice cream parlours in the city,” he said. <br /><br />The company is investing up to Rs 14 lakh on every new outlet. <br /><br />“Our focus is to bring sundaes to the customers in their locality rather than having the customer fetch for one. That is our basis for expansion. We will set up parlours in localities that have neighbourhoods that have a culture of stepping out for refreshments as a part of the family’s recreation,” he added.<br /><br />Polar Bear is also planning to tap into the city’s active travellers market by setting up outlets on all highways that lead outside Bengaluru. <br /><br />“We already have outlets on the Bengaluru-Mysuru road, which are doing very well. We think this is a great market opportunity as up to 10% of our business comes from such outlets,” Rai said. <br /></p>
