Rahul meets Karunanidhi

In a bid to strengthen the ties between two parties, All India Congress Committee (AICC) Vice President Rahul Gandhi met DMK President M Karunanidhi at his residence on Sunday.

Rahul, who was on a two-day visit to the city participated in the 94th birthday celebrations of Karunanidhi at Royapettah on Saturday evening, also enquired Karunanidhi's health condition.

"Karunanidhi Ji is fine. I am very happy to meet him. His health has improved a lot compared to the last time when I visited him in the hospital," Rahul said.

Later Rahul visited his party headquarters in Chennai and met senior Congress leaders. Party sources said that Rahul held crucial discussions with the office bearers and functionaries.
