Bosch India on Tuesday announced the graduation of 13 startups from its first accelerator programme — Discover, Nurture and Accelerate (DNA).

It also said that Robert Bosch Venture Capital (RBVC) will soon enter the Indian market, and will look for funding startups. RBVC invests in seed, early, and late-stage venture capital rounds and participates in the follow-on investments in privately held companies.

Bosch received close to 450 applications, and the number was scaled down to 120. Finally, 13 startups were selected for the programme. “These startups underwent 18-week intense development, mentoring and piloting. We also invited external consultants, and these startups underwent a lot of training on pitching, among others,” Manohar Esarapu, Head- Bosch India, corporate venture programme DNA, said.

Bosch will partner and collaborate with these technology startups that work in the areas of aerospace, mobility, social impact, healthcare, and agriculture. Cosine Labs, Akasa Labs, Nymble, and Ecobin are some of the startups that are part of this launch programme.  The chosen few also includes, a startup which harnesses the power of virtual reality to save around 90% cost that is invested in life-size prototyping. A grand demo will be held on June 30. While four startups are in joint GTM (go to market), three are in pre-product integration stage.

He added that close to Rs 7.5 crore have been spent for the programme. DNA is not a one-off activity, and the second programme will begin in September. “We will start inviting applications from September,” he said, adding by combining the creativity of startups with the experience of Bosch, significant value can be unlocked.
