Science Express chugs into Bengaluru

The ninth edition of Science Express arrived in Bengaluru on Tuesday with the Whitefield railway station playing host to the train that has travelled across the country to spread awareness on the environment.

The mobile exhibition on 16 coaches of the train focuses on ‘Climate Action’, with each coach displaying science models, charts, data as well as fun-filled activities for younger children. The train will be stationed at Whitefield till Thursday before moving to the Kengeri station on Friday where the exhibition will continue till Sunday. After Kengeri, the train will proceed to Koduru railway station in Andhra Pradesh for public display from June 12 to 14.

Entry will be free but visitors are not allowed to carry mobile phones, cameras, bags, match boxes, beedis, cigarettes, water bottles and any sharp objects. The train started its journey in October 2007. It has made eight tours across the country, traversing 1.5 lakh kilometres and exhibiting at 490 places. The latest edition was flagged off at the Safdarjung railway station in Delhi on February 17. It will cover 68 stations by September.
