Ultimatum to Raje: Vacate bungalow in 10 days

BJP MLA Ghanshyam Tiwari on Thursday issued a 10-day ultimatum to Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje to vacate her bungalow.

The legislator’s ultimatum came just a day after he filed a complaint against his party’s media cell for maligning his image.

The senior BJP leader warned that Raje would face protest by Deen Dayal Vahini –a group he founded- if she fails to vacate her current residence of 13 Civil Lines and moves over to the official Chief Minister’s residence at 8 Civil Lines.

"Raje wants to occupy her present residence which is worth Rs 2,000 crore . There is no other reason for her to not shift to the official CM residence,” Tiwari told a press conference at his house in Shyam Nagar. Tiwari has also been vehemently opposed to the Rajasthan Ministers Salaries (Amendment) Bill, 2017, passed in the last budget session of the Assembly.

The Bill proposes that a former chief minister would continue to occupy the bungalow even if she were appointed to other positions.

The BJP leader also accused Raje of occupying both the current residence and the one earmarked as official and threatened the state government.
