Bhagamandala villagers protest against Kasturirangan report

The villagers of Bhagamandala staged a protest against the implementation of Kasturirangan report.
The villagers blocked the Bhagamangala-Ayyangeri Road which caused a massive traffic jam in the area. 

Addressing the protesters, Zilla Panchayat member Kavitha Prabhakar condemned the government’s move to implement Kasturirangan report in Bhagamandala, Thannamani, Cherangala, Ayyangeri, Ballamavati and Talacauvery.

“Though the implementation of the report was opposed in the Zilla Panchayat meeting, the government has implemented it, neglecting the opion of local people,” Kavitha Prabhakar charged.

Advocate Sunil Patrao said that the government cannot implement Kasturirangan report amid the protests of the public.

The deputy commissioner has been misleading the people, he said and urged the Forest department to withdraw the implementation of the report.

Later, the protesters locked down the forest department office.

Bhagamandala, Ayyangeri, Karikegram panchayat members, zilla panchayat member Kumar and others were present on the occasion.
