SI among 4 injured in Kalladka group clash

Tension prevailed in Kalladka of Bantwal taluk after three persons were injured in stabbing and group clash over a trivial issue on Tuesday.

The injured are Hindu Jagarana Vedike leaders Ratnakar Shetty and Ravi Bhandary and a local resident Khaleel. In his complaint, Shetty has accused Khaleel and 50 others of assaulting him and Bhandary. On the other hand, Khaleel has complained that a group assaulted him.

Two groups entered into commercial complexes and shops and also damaged vehicles. All the business establishments remained closed in Kalladka following the incident. The police resorted to mild lathi charge to disperse the crowd. In the melee, miscreants threw stones at the police and Bantwal Town SI Rakshith Gowda suffered injuries on his head. Dakshina Kannada SP Bhushan G Borase has rushed to the spot. After a stabbing incident at Kalladka on May 26, the police had clamped prohibitory orders under Section 144 of CrPC till June 16 midnight in Bantwal taluk.

3 held over Vittal clash
Two separate cases have been registered in Vittal police station following a clash at Kanyaya and at Muguli of Karopady village. The police have arrested Rahim, Irshad and Radhakrishna.
It all happened when Mohammed Haneef was assaulted by Radhakrishna, Nagesh and Harish who were waiting for a bus at Muguli. Later, Rahim, Irshad and Mohammed Ansar went to the house of Radhakrishna and assaulted him.
