Anubhav rose to popularity with his flagship show ‘In Mumbai’ followed by ‘Sea Hawks’. He got his first break in Bollywood with ‘Tum Bin’.

He has also worked on other films like ‘Aapko Pehle Bhi Kahin Dekha Hai’, ‘Tathastu’, ‘Cash’, ‘Gulaab Gang’ and ‘Tum Bin 2’. Anubhav is presently working on some new projects set to release next year.

Music
Shankar Ehsaan Loy

“I grew up listening to various genres of music — from ‘Guns N’ Roses’  to ‘Coldplay’, from folk music to Pakistani artistes. Shankar Ehsaan Loy add their own magic to the tunes and give that ‘oomph’ factor. I also enjoy the works of A R Rahman and Vishal and Shekar. Begum Akhtar’s music has been my favourite from
the good old days. However, my latest love is Italian music.”

Actor
Om Puri

“I have a special memory of Om Puri. It was during the time we worked in ‘Sea Hawks’, a television series. He was a big film star working in a small screen space and during the shoot, it looked like he was not giving it his best. So I told him that he can leave the show if he wants to but he said he was having fun. It was during the editing that I realised how brilliant an actor he is. He performed so effortlessly which made me think he is not interested, but there was so much intensity in his performance. He was extremely talented like that.”

Travel
London

“London is one of those places where I feel at home. There’s something about the gloom and greyness of the place that makes me feel like I have a past connection with it. I love the cold weather and when everyone else is running for a cover from the rain, I enjoy standing out and getting soaked. I also liked Calgary in Canada. It’s a quaint little town similar to the dull London.”

Inspiration
Amitabh Bachchan

“He is an actor I look up to for inspiration. He is a global star but still stays grounded. I love how he says ‘namaste’ on stage. Shah Rukh Khan is another person I like. I learnt so much from him while working on ‘Ra.One’. He showed me how to push myself beyond my limits and that has made a big impact in my life.”

Food
‘Paratha’

“I am a foodie and I take
a deep interest in trying out interesting cuisines whenever I travel. Having said that, homemade food is my weakness. For me, there’s nothing to beat Banarasi dishes like ‘Nimona’, ‘Punjabi Wadi’, ‘Mutton do pyaaza’ and varieties of ‘parathas’. I also enjoy other cuisines like Italian and French. I don’t like American food as it is unhealthy.”

Author
Mirza Asadullah Beg Khan

“I’m not much of a reader but I enjoy poetry. I find it more relatable and engrossing. Mirza Asadullah Beg Khan’s poetry has that kind of magic. Urdu poetry is absolutely beautiful, it has so much to offer within those short sentences. Apart from poetry, I enjoy reading various articles published online or in print.”
