Top 10 in AIIMS entrance from same coaching institute in Kota

A single tutorial institute, based in Kota district of Rajasthan, has coached the top 10 scorers in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences MBBS entrance test. Results were announced on Thursday.

Kota is known as the coaching hub of India, with a thriving business in training students for competitive exams. All 10 aspiring doctors had signed up at the Allen Career Institute. Seven were classroom students, while the rest took distance coaching.

Institute director Naveen Maheshwari told DH, “Last year, eight of Allen’s students, including the second topper, had made it to the top 10. The effort of our trainers and hard work of our students bring such laurels to our institute.”

The toppers are (in order of rank): Nishita Purohit, Archit Gupta, Tamoghna Ghosh, Nipun Chandra, Harsh Agarwal, Rishav Raj, Harshit Anand, Rinku Sarmah, Abhishek Dogra and Manish Moolchandani.

Topper loves baseball
A national baseball player, Nishita (18) of Surat had always dreamed of becoming a doctor. “I was sure of cracking the entrance, but I had never imagined I would be the topper. I must thank my parents and teachers...” she told DH.
