Following four losses by the Knight Riders, there had been demonstration in South Kolkata against Ganguly but the ace left-hander said that’s okay once in a while. “I have never looked at life this way. The day you pick up cricket till the day you finish, you will always be under pressure to perform. It’s the same with everyone,” said Ganguly, who hit a 54-ball 88 to guide KKR to a 24-run win over Deccan Chargers.

“Even Sachin Tendulkar is under pressure to perform. Outside things have never worried me. I had faith in myself all througout my career. If I was not good enough, I would not have been here,” he said.

The former India skipper said his team needs more wins from here on to make it to the semifinals. “We need more wins to go on in this tournament. We won in Mohali, lost in Delhi, that was a bad toss to lose actually. We saw the game yesterday, the toss was very crucial at Ferozshah Kotla. If you lose toss on deteoriating wickets, it’s very crucial,” he said. KKR still has four more home matches left and Ganguly said this will play a role in deciding their semifinal fate.

“We have a few more home games now on. It’s very important, hopefully we can go further. Away games are important but home games are also important. We know the condition, we play on this ground everyday so these play a role,” he said.

Asked if Thursday’s knock will be among his best T20 scores, Ganguly said: “Not really. I have got runs, team won that is important. I played a few good T20 knocks.”
