“Politics is for five years. However, this work will be with us till my death,” she says proudly.

“I did not have any desire to become Councillor. However, people identified me and made me to contest the election and win the election. I have to pay them back by providing them all the facilities required.”

She had won the election as an independent candidate. “I listen to those who come to me and try my level best to help them. At times, I do send them to President or others.”

To a query on when she will find time for the people, she says “I have been selling vegetables for the last 15 years. I sell vegetables from 5 am to 11 am. Afternoon is reserved for people’s work. In case of necessity, my husband Sugunayya comes to the shop and I go with my voters to government offices.”  “Laying pipelines to Tamil colony, solving underground drainage problems have given me satisfaction so far. I will also give emphasis to the repair of roads and underground drainage in the ward,” she added.
