JOIN USBMRCL Managing Director Pradeep Singh Kharola on Sunday attained celebrity status among Metro riders, who rushed to take a selfie with him.
Kharola, who was busy instructing Metro officials to open additional ticket counters, was interrupted by one after another commuter who rushed to thank him. Some were hesitant but others were moved by excitement and stood near the managing director seeking a selfie moment.
Kharola rode the train from Kempegowda to Yelachenahalli station. Dileep Rao and his wife, Shalini Rao requested him for a picture once they stepped out of the train. “Sir, we have been waiting for this moment for years now. Thanks very much for making this a reality,” both of them said.
“Who I am?” As one after another commuter came forward to thank him, a surprised Kharola asked them, “Do you know who I am?” But they did.
“Of course, we have seen your pictures in newspapers. Can I take a selfie with you sir,” asked a woman commuter who struggled to handle the camera. Kharola took the phone and clicked the selfie for her.
