The AIADMK government in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday said it would announce its stance on NDA'S decision to ban the sale of cattle for slaughter since the matter is with the Court.

Soon after the question hour session, the opposition parties including DMK raised the issue in the Assembly and asked the chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami to spell out the government's stand on the cow slaughter issue since the new rule affects several farmers across the State.

During the intervention, chief minister pointed out that even the Centre is considering to make several amendments to the new cattle rule following the request of the people across the country.

"In addition, the matter is with the Supreme Court and as well as with the High Court", Palaniswami said adding that government would take the decision on the issue once the verdict comes from the court.

However, members of DMK and its ally Congress said they were not satisfied with the chief minister's reply. When they tried to raise the issue once again, the speaker denied permission.

Following which, both DMK and Congress MLAs staged a walkout from the Assembly.
