Sourabh was a resident of Cachar in Assam and was working with Hotel Imperial that operates round-the-clock at Satellite Bus Stand on Mysuru Road.

According to police, the murder was committed at around 10 am and came to light at 2.30 pm when his colleagues returned to the room after their morning shift. According to colleagues, Sourabh and his uncle worked in the night shift and they had come to their room at Haleguddadhahalli after work. The two shared their place of stay with other hotel employees who worked in different shifts.

Sourabh’s body was found by his friend who informed the police. There were liquor bottles at the scene which suggested that they had drinks before committing the crime, the police said. There were injuries on the victim’s head and face. The police have also recovered a wooden club from the scene of crime.

Byatrayanapura police have registered a case of murder and launched a manhunt for the victim’s uncle whose identity they have withheld.
