KEA publishes results of 1st round of seat allotment

Last Updated 25 June 2017, 20:19 IST

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has published the results of the first round of allotment of seats for engineering, BSc Agriculture, Architecture and Pharma-D.

Students who wrote the Common Entrance Test-2017 and are eligible to participate in counselling may check the website of the KEA to know details of the college and course allotted to them. The seat allotment is made based on the student’s rank, priority of their college and course options, and the seat matrix.

After the publication of mock allotment results, candidates had time until Saturday evening to change the order of their options.

Allotment of seats for B Pharma has been held back as per the direction of the high court, as there is a dispute between colleges and the government over seat-sharing.

Students will be able to exercise one among four available choices, after 12 pm on June 27. If candidates are satisfied with the allotted college and course, they can exercise choice 1, after which they will be out of the counselling process and cannot participate in the second round.

Exercising choice 2 indicates that the candidate finds the seat from round one acceptable but would like to take part in round two for more options. If the candidate exercises choice 3, he or she gives up the seat allotted in the first round and participates in the next round for better options. Candidates exercising choice 4 indicate that they do not wish to take part in the counselling process conducted by the KEA.

The KEA has advised students who wish to take part in counselling for medical and dental seats to be cautious when exercising their choice. Counselling for medical and dental seats will be held shortly and candidates can participate in the same, holding the seat allotted in the first round, by exercising choice 2. For details on choices and more information on the counselling process, candidates are advised to refer the CET brochure and the KEA website.
