JOIN USThe City police have intensified drive against those indulging in wheelies. The police have seized 38 bikes in Banaswadi, Peenya and surrounding areas. However, the youths, who indulged in the wheelies on these bikes, managed to escape.
The police had deployed special teams at various junctions after alerts that youths might indulge in the wheelies on the occasion of Eid.
“We are trying to trace owners of these bikes,” Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Praveen Sood said.
All the bikes do not have valid documents and number plates. The bikes were manufactured using spare parts of old and dismantled bikes.
“We are just levying fine on the offenders. We have also registered cases against them,” Sood added. The police have decided to deploy more special teams at important junctions to curb the menace.
